Geoff Mason was born in North London and studied trombone at the London College of Music. Since then Geoff has had a budding career as a freelance musician playing with the 606 Club Big Band, the Ronnie Scott Big band, Paul Booth's “Bansangu Orchestra”, The Squadronaires, The Len Philips Big band.
Recording session work includes the soundtrack of the British film “Grow your Own” and the BBC drama “The Debt”.
Geoff also runs his own quintet with the tenor sax player Mike Coats, which has made 3 CD’s and appeared on BBC Radio two’s “Best of Jazz” ,”Jazz FM” and at many jazz festivals and clubs in the UK including the EFG London Jazz festival, Ealing Jazz festival and Scarborough Jazz festival
In addition to the quintet Geoff has worked with many top jazz stars including visiting Americans Scott Hamilton, Greg Abate & Daryl Sherman and UK musicians Digby Fairweather, Derek Nash, Tina May, Paul Booth, Steve Fishwick, Dave O’Higgins, Henry Lowther, Nigel Price and also toured the UK with Martha and the Vandellas.

Recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, and noted for his beautiful sound and lyrical playing, saxophonist Jonny Ford has performed on many occasions at Bracknell Jazz since his teens, often alongside his school friend the multi-talented Ted Hayes on drums, and father and son team Simon and Rudy Cook.
