Kelvin Christiane has been leading his own bands for many years and has released eighteen CDs of his originals and standards. The CD ‘Piper at the Pearly Gates’ (with Mark Nightingale on trombone) was described as “a band of astonishing virtuosity…” by Humphrey Lyttleton on ‘Best of Jazz’, Radio 2.
A graduate of the Leeds College of Music he has played with artists such as Bernard ‘Pretty’ Purdie, Pucho & the Latin Soul Bros, Jim Mullen, Gilad Atzmon, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, Bob Martin, Roland Perrins’ Blue Planet Orchestra, Dave O'Higgins, Derek Nash, Steve Waterman, Peter King, Alex Garnett, John Etheridge, Dave Cliff… Kelvin performs regularly at the major festivals in the UK and Europe which have included Nice and Montauban, France |
